Turkey Government International Students Scholarships
Turkey Government Scholarships award creates an avenue to international scholars to pursue their education career in Turkey. It is a fully funded scholarship offered by the Turkey government.
Each year, the government of Turkey chooses highly qualified scholars to explore and pursue their education career in Turkey. Course programs for Bachelor, Doctoral and Master are available under the scholarship grant. The scholarships was created to encourage students from all over the world to explore the social and cultural heritage of Turkey during their study time. The scholarship offer covers the tuition fees and other necessary schooling benefits such as health insurance and accommodation are awarded to the awarded students during the study period.

Scholarship Offers for Turkey Government Scholarships
The benefactors of the Turkey Government Scholarships awards are entitled to numerus benefits during their course program.
In addition to the free tuition, accommodation is awarded to the student. accommodation is provided for them in the dormitories of their desired universities. The student can be allowed to change their place of stay, but it’s on their expenses.
Travel expenses and public health insurance are covered by the scholarship award. Any student under this scholarship program need not pay any bill if they get unwell. The awardees will also receive two airfare tickets to and from their various destination. If a student purchases their airfare ticket, the money will be reimbursed to them.
However, other benefits of Turkey Government Scholarships may depend on the program chosen by the student.
For undergraduate course programs, about 700 TL of allowance will be given each month. Additionally, the Turkish Language course will be provided for one year.
For postgraduate course programs (Doctoral & Master), a monthly allowance of about 950 TL will be given to Master’s awardee and for Doctoral students, up to 1,400 TL allowance is given monthly. Also, the Turkish Language course will be provided for 1 year.
For short courses (period of 3 – 10 months), monthly stipend of about 3,000 TL will be received. Moreover, the award does not cover the accommodation and other amenities of the student for short courses.
Regarding Success Scholarship Program (one year), 595 TL every month for masters; each month a stipend of about 440 TL for an undergraduate degree; 885 TL monthly for doctoral. However, these does not cover other benefits of the scholarship offer.
Those under the Language Programs and Turkish Culture (duration of 8 to 10 months), each month a stipend of about 2,000 TL will be given to the student. It covers more benefits including health insurance.
Eligibility for Turkey Government Scholarships award
Certain criteria the required application criteria must be met by interested applicants to be eligible for the scholarship offer.
For the overall academic achievement, 70% is mandatory for an undergraduate program, 75% for Masters and Doctoral, and 90% for medical school programs.
First on the eligibility requirements is age criteria. To apply for any degree course an applicant must be within the age as stated;
Undergraduate program not above 21 years.
Master’s program not above 30 years.
Doctoral program not above 35 years.
Research program not above 48 years.
The required documents for the application include: letter of recommendation, latest university or school exam grade sheet, a curriculum vitae, letter of motivation, degree certificate, statement of purpose, copies of passport and transcript of records must be submitted. Notwithstanding, work experience certificates, a language certificate (TOEFL, GMAT, IELTS, GRE or GAT) and extracurricular or social certificates are not compulsory.
The application process of the Turkey Government Scholarships is assessable online. Additionally, unlike many scholarship program, Turkey Government Scholarships requires no application fees from its applicants.
Deadlines for Turkey Government Scholarships
The application process for Turkey Government Scholarships is open from January – February.
The application will be available to all (research programs, postgraduate and undergraduate) degree program in January. And the application will be closed by February. Also, during this period, the application forms submitted by different students will be evaluated for the award.
The interview will commence subsequently by March for students who are shortlisted. By May, the evaluation process will end. The interview period will end by June. The announcement of the results of awarded students will be done in the month of July. And by September, the qualified scholars will start their travel to their host institution in Turkey.

How to apply for Turkey Government Scholarships
The process for applying for the Turkey Government Scholarships is categorized into four stages: the preliminary assessment stage, shortlisting stage, interview stage, and the selection stage.
The submission of electronic application form together with the required documents is during the preliminary assessment stage. In order to start the application for Turkey Government Scholarships, interested student must register an account via the official Turkey Government Scholarships website. subsequently, they must complete an online application form. This is for the screening and the initial evaluation for the applicant. Upon completing the online application form, required documents for the application must duly be submitted.

Once completed, check for all the available course programs scholarship. The degree programs offered in the scholarship are undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs. Select your program.
After this, the following is the shortlisting process stage. In this stage, the application will be assessed by the committee members of the scholarship award. If the student qualifies, an interview will be the next stage, followed by the selection confirmation. The interview will be performed by the Turkish Consulates. the result of the interview will be emailed to the students and will also be visible on the online platform of Turkey Government Scholarships.
Last is the selection process. when all the processes are successful the university’s admission letter, scholarship award letter and a Turkey Student VISA document will be sent to the awarded student.
